Five Great Uses for Leftover Coffee

The coffee can taste brewed, black, with milk, with sugar in ice cream, in cakes, and even dishes. But we often forget that coffee grounds can be helpful in many things.

Here are some ideas:

Repair scratches on dark wood furniture.
Dip a cotton swab in coffee grounds and dab onto the scratches to minimize them.

Keep down the dust.
Do you have a dusty floor or fireplace to clean? Sprinkle coffee grounds on the floor or hearth to cut down on airborne dust as you sweep.

Absorb refrigerator odors.

Fill a nylon stocking or cheesecloth with coffee grounds and place it in the refrigerator. The coffee will absorb the unpleasant odors.

Kill fleas on pets.
It’s well known that coffee is a natural pesticide. Rub your pet’s fur with coffee grounds to get rid of fleas.

Eliminate unpleasant odors on your hands.
If you cook a lot, you know that certain scents, like garlic or onion, stick to your hands. To get rid of them, simply rub your hands with coffee grounds.
